Warner Equestrian is your perfect training partner! We have regular training days with various trainers covering all sorts of disciplins from dressage, jumping, cross country, showing, fitness and horse care as well as our in-house trainer Katie Harper who provides instruction and advice in all areas of care, training, show preparation, course walking and on show day! We also regularly have yard outings to cross country courses and big venues and shows.
Our beautiful Bury Hill yard is absolutly ideal for training for all disciplins. We have a 25x45 all weather arena which is always set out as a short arena but which will also hold the full course of poly jumps we have including fillers, planks, trays, gates and wall. We also have some more rustic jumps and fences for practising xc technique. The walker is great for helping with fitness, warming up or down and as an alternative to roadwork for hardening legs. Gallops in the village are within hacking distance for faster work and the neighbouring farmers field with its hills is great for strength as well as canter work and interval training, you can also splash through the river bourne here when it is flowing.

Whether you have just bought your ex racer and need a few hints and tips, or want to polish up your dressage or show jumping, this clinic is for you! Having trained her former hurdler Windrush up to BE intermediate eventing and show jumping at Royal Windsor, Katie has a wealth of handy hints to help you get the best out of a sometimes quirky but hugely rewarding breed. Grass roots eventing training series. You can pick and choose one, two or all of the clinics in this series which aims to help the grass roots eventer or any one wishing to try the sport. The series will concentrate at one discipline at a time, helping you to break down an event into manageable chunks and improve your scores as well as your safety and confidence!
Sunday 19th September— Dressage. Take the mystery out of your dressage test! The aim of this clinic is to try and learn what the judge is looking for, what certain comments mean, how correct dress can affect your scores, how to improve scores and simply how to relax and enjoy your test! Saturday 9th October—Arena xc practice. We will be using portable xc fences , jump for joy xc fences as well as rustic show jumps to practice some of the more technical elements of xc in an environment where we can easily change the difficulty and size of the fence. Katie Harper has been riding since she was a small child and over the years has ridden and trained a huge variety of horses, picking up some handy advice on the way. From the age of 10, she was involved in the breaking, producing and competing of sports and competition horses, still a big passion of hers, and where she picked up some skills which helped her to train her horses to succeed. Katie completed 10 pony club open championships in four disciplines on all 6 of the horses she trained from the ages of 14 and 21. Katie took an interest in dressage, training and riding with BYRDS and competing up to medium before finding her passion for eventing and had the pleasure of riding at shows such as Royal Windsor, The TB champs at Barbury Castle and Longleat International. She is currently riding at intermediate and hoping to upgrade to advanced next season.
